I have always loved reading Andy Stanley’s work and this book was not a disappointment. In fact, this was one of my favorite books of his.
Focusing on the idea that people’s paths, not their intentions, determine their destination is the basic premise of the book and Andy hit it on many different levels. The best part about the book was the simplicity of the ideas. As he himself points out, this book is an easy read and also has some very basic thoughts throughout. In fact, everything in this book is common sense yet not normally lived.
Even though the book had some great ideas, I found myself unchallenged by new thoughts. This is both a good and bad thing. Good, because it is his mission to make everything stick and these ideas stick with you. You don’t get cluttered by the thoughts in this book.
It was a difficult book to read because it felt sometimes like a redundant book. There were simply some concepts that were explored for too many pages.
But as is always the case, Andy held my attention through great stories and some great quotes. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who just needs encouragement about their journey and some motivation to great on the right path in their lives, financially, physically, and spiritually.
Four out of five stars.
