overwhelmed

I am having a lot of fun these days.  Yesterday, I played so much music.  My fingers hurt.  My voice is sore.  And my heart is just excited about the opportunities ahead.

I just love that God opens so many doors for me to lead worship as well as just play guitar and sing for certain things.  It is truly a blessing that I have prayed for since I became a Christian.

But on the same note, I am worn out.  Like I said, I have literally torn out because of it all.  And there is still 24/7 tonight.

I believe God sometimes gives us what we want only so that we will be completely overwhelmed by it.

Just food for thought.

birthday and some eagle eye

Well my birthday went off without a real bang.  I studied for a lot of it.  Watched some season 6 of 24 (yes, I hated it when it was on tv but now I am hooked).

Then last night, I went to see Eagle Eye.

I really really liked it.  I mean, it was really good.

The actor was pretty good – I still picture Even Stevens every time I see Shia LeBeof, but oh well.

Summary – see the movie.

Ok, off to do more work.

it’s my birthday and I’ll cry if I want to

25 years.  Quarter century.

That is how old I am now.  Odd.

I don’t feel older today.  In fact, I am not quite sure if I am even supposed to.

But I do feel a little lack of excitement only because I have a lot of work to do today and for the next few days which I am not really looking forward to at all.

Well, thanks to all of you who have thus far wished me a happy birthday.  It means a lot.  I hope you all enjoy your day as well.

new computer?

I have to get a new computer.  Mine stinks.

List of things wrong:
mouse doesn’t work –  this can be fixed by getting a new one, but whatever.
screen is severely cracked and getting worse.
I can’t upload my iPod tunes for some reason.
the cd drive doesn’t open so no burning cds, which I love to do.
it is pretty slow.
it is dumb.

Therefore I am looking for a new computer.  I am considering a Mac (don’t hate PC users).  But if you know someone who has an extra computer and they want to give theirs away (that would be ideal), let them know of my situation.  Or if they want to sell one to me that is in great working condition, let me know.

Dear Fifa Soccer 08

Dear Fifa Soccer 08,

First off, let me say I love you.  Let me continue with – I hate you.

Seriously, why do I get so mad every time I play you?  Win, lose, same result.
Anger.  Fits of rage take over me almost every second of every game.

I don’t understand this.  I think that I am going to have to give you up because you just make me too mad.  I mean come on, when I say shoot left, please shoot left.  When I say jump right on penalty kicks (which I have still yet to win one), jump right.  Come on, it is not that hard.

Who made you?  What were they thinking?  You are probably the best sports game that I have ever played but no game is done without me getting my rage on.

Also, you suck.  Seriously, you suck.  At the current moment, I want to throw my controller down the street.  Down the street, and then run it over.  Then come back and place it in the microwave and feed it to Quincy to eat it.  Then puke it up and hand back it to the people that made you.

In all seriousness, I hope you burn.  Just food for thought (get it, you will be eaten by a stinking dog).

Your ex best friend,
Jason

thoughts on prayer taken from homework

“Of course the preacher is above all distinguished as a man of prayer.  He prays as an ordinary Christian, else he were a hypocrite.  He prays more than ordinary Christians, else he were disqualified for the office he has undertaken.”  – Charles Spurgeon

“I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer.”  – Martin Luther

“Prayerlessness is one of the greatest sins of American Christians.” – Alvin Reid

“Through prayer the church on earth has access to the powers of the heavenly world.” – Andrew Murray

“Where you are as a Christian five years from now will depend on how you pray more than any other factor.”  – Alvin Reid

“All our libraries and studies are mere emptiness compared with our closets.  We grow, we wax mightily, we prevail in private prayer.” – Charles Spurgeon

Just from that, I’d say prayer sounds important.  When was the last time you prayed?
Also, when you last prayed, was it just about you or about someone other than yourself?
