We started our new series exploring Love (through marriage, family, and singles). Tim shared a message on how to honor your spouse through not trying to fix them but through work on your own self. I was challenged deeply especially by this one statement: “We don’t enter marriage to be fulfilled, emotionally satisfied, romantically charged, but rather to become like Jesus.”
That statement reminds me of reading Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas right before getting married with Vickie. Marriage is not about happiness but about holiness. It points you to your flaws and inability to be who you are in Christ at all times. Thank God for His grace and mercy. Thanks also to our spouses. If you want to listen to the message, check it out here.
Song of Hope (Heaven come down) – Robbie Seay Band
Glory to God Forever – Fee
Mighty to Save – Hillsong
Furious – Bethel Live
Set a fire – Will Reagan & the United Pursuit
Furious was a new song for us at 24/7 and the church was already singing it wholeheartedly. It is a great song that is focused completely on characteristics of who God is.
Set a Fire was another song after the message that the church sang out with the hearts. It is a song that has been on my heart for the past month. “Set a fire/down in my soul/that I can’t contain and I can’t control/I want more of you God/I want more of you God”
